Calendar and Due Dates
- January 15, 2010: Updates are due for grants given in prior fiscal year
- March 1, 2010: All grant proposals are due except for pledged or matching grants
- April and May: Program Officers and Trustees review grant proposals
- June: Denial or confirmation letters and checks mailed out
- June 30, 2010: Isabel Foundation fiscal year end
Grant Proposals for first time requests
If your non-profit organization is located in the United States, registered as a 501c(3) with the IRS, and supports the healing ministry of Christian Science, then your non-profit group may be considered for a grant from the Isabel Foundation.
Please submit a brief introductory letter in triplicate to our office address in Flint, Michigan by March 15th. Describe your non-profit organization, its mission, goals, how it supports the cause of Christian Science, and a copy of the IRS status as a non-profit organization. State a specific dollar amount for the grant you are requesting as well as a description of your need and what the grant would be supporting.
Grant Glossary
Pledge: A grant amount pledged for a specific number of years to a non-profit organization. No other grant proposals may be submitted during this period of time.
Matching or Challenge Grant: A grant that is made on the condition that other matching donations must be raised during a specific period of time. This type of grant requires written verification of the source, date, and amount of cash deposits received (not pledged) before Isabel funds are released. No other grant proposals may be submitted during this period of time.
Updates: One or two page summary of the use of Isabel grant monies to date. Send the updates in triplicate to the Flint office. Do not send CDs or Friends letters.
Grant Use: Grants must be used for the purposes listed in the grant award letter. You may not allocate these funds for other purposes without our prior written approval.
